Chandre Iqugan Szafran is Inupiaq from Alaska. She contributes writing, editing, and multimedia to scholarly, advocacy, literary, entertainment, and public media projects at home and abroad. She holds an MFA in Nonfiction Creative Writing from the United States’ only accredited university for Indigenous fine arts.

Chandre will dedicate much of her time at Lásságámmi to finalize editing an anthology from Inuit storytellers, a project of the Tribal consortium in her home region. Her own creative work brings to life the intersections of culture, class, humor, humans, nonhumans, time, and place.
